Windows 10 Startup

Post by Chromehunger »

When Windows 10 restarts, Everything displays the search screen even though it is set to open in background. Also, it opens a text file with all the Everything settings. I have reinstalled (no change) as Admin and as user (no change). I have edited the Everything.text file (no change). This behavior did not occur in Windows 7.
Thank you.

This is not something installer does. Something else is going on.

You left quite a bit of information out. That makes finding a solution much harder ...
What installer did you use? the portable installer? MSI? Setup.exe? 32- or 64-bit?
How did you install (what options did you select)?

But try this first:
  • Unintsall Everything
  • Reboot
Does Everything still open? Does the text-file open?
  • In File Explorer, type
    shell:common startup
in the address bar and press ENTER.
If there are any Everything related items visible, delete them.
  • In File Explorer, type
    shell:startup
in the address bar and press ENTER.
If there are any Everything related items visible, delete them.
  • Download Opruimen.cmd from here and follow the instructions in that message.
  • REboot (just to be on the safe side)
  • Install Everything again.
Problem solved?
