Everything reindexes all the time on USB 3 disconnecition

Post by CruNcher »

This is really slowly becoming awkward all the time i disconnect the USB 3 Device from the ASmedia Controller Everything is starting a complete reindexing of all Drives databases :(

why the hell does it do that it's a totally odd behavior it should understand the Device was disconnected and don't display it's database results but not recreate the whole index for each drive in the list again i don't understand it im running it with administration privileges via svchost (taskplaning) on Win 7 start :(

it's stresses the drives without real logic in this case ?

Auto Include is disabled for all the drives both options only the database for all drives active i don't understand this behavior of it, it shouldn't be :(

It should be smart shouldn't it ? but recreating the whole index on USB 3 disconnection of 1 Hard Drive (either forced or by drive error) for each hard drive seems not really smart @ all

Arghhh just found this
http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopi ... 360#p10240

this could be the answer for my issue this should be really going into the GUI options as well for usability purposes maybe even becoming the default :(

Another thing can Sort be optimized it seems it's not multi threaded @ all currently ?

Sorry about the reindexing when connecting/disconneting a usb drive.
It is by (bad) design that Everything must reindex when the indexes change.

I have improved Everything for the next release so the re-index is not as taxing as it currently is.
Please disable Auto include fixed and removable volumes from Tools -> Options -> NTFS and check the keep offline volumes option as mentioned.

Everything already uses multi-threaded sorting.
Please make sure max_threads is set to 0.
