To backup your settings:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Import and Export Settings.
- Select Export settings.
- Click Next.
- Click Browse....
- Select a filename and click Save.
- Click Export.
- Click Finish.
Please do this before changing your settings.
Hi there - I do not see the ability to Import/Export settings. I am trying to move the settings for Everything to another new computer I just bought. Thanks for the help.

@flamboyant_entropy
You are probably using an older version.
Type in SearchBox:
and/or try to find your settings file - Everything.ini
Once you find it, copy/paste it to the new Everything folder, in the new computer.
If you upgrade to the new Everything version, you will find the Export/Import feature.

Moved from
void's Everything settings.
To backup your settings in Everything 1.4:
- Exit Everything (File -> Exit)
- Copy the following folder:
%APPDATA%\Everything
(this should resolve to: C:\Users\<your-user-name>\AppData\Roaming\Everything )
To restore your settings:
- Exit Everything (File -> Exit)
- Restore the following folder:
%APPDATA%\Everything
The export/import feature will be available in
Everything 1.5.
