Total commander issue

Post by sk2107 »

Hello,

I installed a new windows and reinstalled everything latest version.

but when I tried to search using total commander and check "Everything" on I got a message that Everything is not installed although it is installed and running perfectly.

How can I get Total commander to recognize Everything again?

Best Regards

Hi,

This message is NOT displayed if 'Everything' has been started(!) and the Everything service is running.

You can find further setting options for both Everything and Total Commander here:
13. SETTINGS: For 'Everything' in Total Commander & 'Everything' -> from 'Everything' Version 1.5

Here is a brief summary:

One of the following options must be set up for Everything 1.5a:
  • 13. 1.b.
    - wincmd.ini - Section [Configuration] -> UseEverythingInstance=1.5a
      and
    - Everything.ini - Section [Everything] -> alpha_instance=1

    - OR -

  • 13. 2.b.
    - Everything.ini - Section [Everything] -> alpha_instance=0

    - OR -

  • 13. 2.c. File: NO_ALPHA_INSTANCE WITHOUT content and WITHOUT file extension in the Everything programme directory
                                                           (this is where the file(s) "Everything64.exe" or "Everything.exe" are located)

wincmd.ini - Section [Configuration] -> UseEverythingInstance=1.5a
This one was missing. It is working now.

Thanks a lot
