I tried content searching in Everything 1.4 and got unexpectedly no results.
Being used to unexpected results in my 1.4 setup (lots of experiments without cleaning up the mess), I fired up a new, clean instance. And immediately got results.

Thing is: can't pinpoint why it didn't get results in the first situation. If anyone knows why, please let me know.
No urgent matter; I will clean up my setting-mess anyway (finally :D)
( To give an idea: Folders were opened in filemanager A; files in filemanager B ...)

The search query:

Code: Select all

parent:T:\   content:e
I think the most interesting thing is in the debug logs:
nofiltercase:nofilterpath:nofilterwholeword:nofilterdiacritics:nofilterregex:< Not available >e

Code: Select all

search 'parent:T:\   nofiltercase:nofilterpath:nofilterwholeword:nofilterdiacritics:nofilterregex:< Not available >e' filter '' sort 19

In the clean instance this produced the following log:

Code: Select all

search 'parent:T:\   content:e' filter '' sort 19

If it helps: non-standard INI settings (I did a bit of clean-up beforehand ...):

The issue has something to do with the NoNonsense filter.

Does this filter have a macro?
What is the macro?

For the tests above I switched to the Everything filter ( I expected NoNonsense to be the culprit too)

Code: Select all

filter ''

For completeness sake:

Code: Select all

Name  = NoNonsense
Search = !C:\Windows\|c:\windows\temp\|parent:c:\windows|parent:c:\windows\system32  !:\$Recycle.bin  !\appdata\Local\Packages\  !"C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\"  !\Mozilla\
Macro = <empty>

With the NoNonsense filter activated: No results.

Do you have a filter or bookmark with the Macro set to: content ?

O man, should have thought about that!
Spot on!

Filter nocontent:

Code: Select all

Name = nocontent
Search = Not available
Macro = content
(don't ask why ... I honestly don't know)

Thanks a lot!
Now it is definitely time to do some cleaning ... :D
