I'm using Version 1.5.0.1367a (x64) of Everything, and a few days ago, I suddenly noticed that it couldn't refresh my file operations on the computer in real time. For instance, when I delete a document, it still appears in the Everything list, but when I click on the document, it says the file cannot be found. Even if I try to delete the file directly from the Everything list, it won't disappear. Only when I click the "force rebuild" button and the refresh completes do the deleted files finally disappear from the list.
I'm not exactly sure what happened, and I don't remember doing anything specific that might have caused this issue. As a result, I had to register for a forum to seek help. I hope to find out if there is a problem with the software and how I can resolve this strange issue.
Thank you!

Please check the Index menu items.
Did you activate Stop Updating or Pause updates? Choose Update Indexes
(status should also be shown in the statusbar)

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
- Restart Everything.

Thanks for the suggestion, NotNull! Although the Index menu items didn't have the options you mentioned, I found the issue in the status bar where 'index → Pause updates' was selected. After I checked 'Update Indexes', the problem was resolved. I also thank void for the suggestions and appreciate your eager help! My Everything is set up according to your suggestions. As I am not a native English speaker, I used ChatGPT as my translator, hoping that my expression did not hinder your understanding.
