File types that don't support the title: parameter

Post by waffeln »

I've done some scans through my current library and i found out the following:
  • Everything doesn't recognise the title of any of my .m4a (AAC), .wav, .webm (OPUS), .aac and .wma files
  • it recognises the title of most, but not all of my .flac files, and i couldn't figure out why (probably some ID3 encoding type)
  • the only .mp3 files that had titles but that weren't recognised all had an "ID3 Character Encoding" of "ISO-8859-1". When i modified the file in mp3tag, that field changed to "UTF-16" and the title gets picked up by Everything.
I want to note that there are a lot more encodings and formats that i don't have in my library, the above are the only formats i have.

Now to my questions:
How can i figure out what the issue with some of my .flac files are?
Will the currently not working file types or encodings be supported?

The title property in Everything 1.4 has limited support for mp3 and flac files.
Everything 1.4 does not read ID3 tags in flac files.

Please try the Everything 1.5 alpha for improved title property support.
Everything 1.5 supports ID3 tags in flac files.
Everything 1.5 supports ID3 tags with encoding in ISO-8859-1, Unicode (UTF-16), UTF-16BE and UTF-8.
