Searching by two tags

Post by Cruncher665 »

I surely haven't found the answer to this. Regarding my video collection, for example I would like to search for, let's say, all videos rated 5 and with genre of mystery. How do I do that?

Everything 1.5 Alpha introduces advanced property searching. Two of the available properties are Genre and Rating. These may (or may not) be available to your specific files in your collection, but it's worth testing.

You can quickly test if files have these properties by right-clicking the column headers in Everything and selecting Add Columns. Add the Rating and the Genre columns. Then looking at your video collection in Everything click to sort these two columns and then Everything will attempt to populate them with the metadata from the videos in your search results. If they do populate with metadata, you can search by it. You can then choose to permanently add indexing of these properties to your Options -> Indexes -> Properties settings.

"E:\videos\" rating:5stars genre:mystery
