[Solved] Corrupted / missing files

Post by NotNull »

In this thread, @jjk discovered a corrupt file (after downloading).
I did some tests and it turns out more downloadable files are corrupted. Same goes for posted inline images that are sourced from the voidtools website.

I suspect those files got somehow corrupted during the move to the new web server.
Hopefully these files can be recovered somehow.
(in general as well as for personal reasons: most of what I posted, I do no longer have myself; this was my "cloud storage")

The WaybackMachine (web.archive.org) preserves copies of voidtools.com. You may be able to get downloads from there.

Thanks for that one, @froggie!

Maybe @void has a backup somewhere, too.

We'll see how things unfold (I'm not in a hurry) ...

This was caused by the phpbb 3.2 upgrade and a filezilla "feature".

Basically I've downloaded these files as ASCII from my old site which has corrupted them.

I've redownloaded them as binary from my old site and reuploaded them to the new site.
I've also done a phpbb file resync.

It appears to have fixed the corrupt files.

Please make sure you refresh your browser cache. eg: Ctrl + F5. My webserver is also pretty aggressive with file cache, so you may need to wait a while for the webserver to refresh its cache before redownloading a file.

Please let me know if you find any more corrupt files.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
