What is this option in the Text Editor Escape Sequence. Some examples - what does this option do when searching?

Since I am an EmEditor user, I was interested in the topic, but have only beginner's knowledge.

Example 1 - Filter Bar:
In EmEditor, search for a word in a .csv file and extract the lines containing the searched word into a separate file
under using Escape Sequence: https://www.emeditor.com/text-editor-fe ... filter_bar (… see below: EXTRACT ALL)
It could also be a text file or unnamed file from which lines should be extracted.

Example 2 - Find Bar:
Search for: file. and new line - example sentence: Save text in separate file.⮠
1. ALT+ENTER, Marking (2) -> Escape character: \ -> OK
2. Field "Search": file.\n   (--> \n … a new line)
    (see also: emeditor-pro-manual-en14.pdf - link below…)
3. Click on Button "\n" (use Escape Sequence) on the find toolbar
4. Make sure that the cursor position is above the search location to be found
5. Click on button "find next" in the find toolbar.
6. The find was marked
