Everything and a bit more?

Post by Shurlock »

First of all: Thanks for EVERYTHING !! I'll not bother praising it as well as many have already done so. ;)
I am in fact so very happy to finally find a search program that works like a charm, that I would like 'a bit more' .

Years ago, I used an MSDOS program called InfoSeek. It worked a bit like Everything, except that it would accept text messages which were saved to simple small files. To search within all these small files, InfoSeek was nearly just as fast to find the searched words and displayed (part of) the files that contained the searched text.
Through the years however the makers of InfoSeek have evolved it into a program with many functions, making it more or less a problem to use it in the simple form that version 1 offered.

So here's my request: how about (re-)producing a simple text searcher that will in fact search within text files?
I am absolutely convinced that the many users of Everything would appreciate such an addition.

With humble regards,
Shurlock.

There are many ways to interpret what you said.
What was so special about this program ?

From what you describe this program can do the same (search in files)
Notepad++ can search within text files. The feature is called "Find in Files".
