Offline volumes problem with 809b

Post by kanenas »

Hello.
I'm using the x86 version on Win 7 x64 to save some RAM.
I've installed the ZIP version of Everything and activated its service.

So far so good but today I found out that it had cleaned up the indices for my offline volumes. There wasn't any system crash to cause a rebuild as far as I know.

I checked its options and the "automatically remove offline volumes" is unchecked.
Strangely, the matching .ini parameter "keep_missing_indexes" is not in the *.ini at all. I'd think it should have been put there by Everything itself when that option is modified in the GUI.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

It could have been caused by a corrupt Everything database.

When Everything 1.3 detects a corrupt database, it exits with a fatal error message: "Fatal error: corrupt file name array".

Everything 1.4.1 just silently rebuilds the entire database without the exit.

If you find Everything is often rebuilding the database, please enable debug logging.
The debug log will explain why the rebuild occurred, and possibly where the corruption is.

keep_missing_indexes has been replaced with auto_remove_offline_ntfs_volumes in Everything 1.4.

Thanks for the response.
No crash that I saw but maybe something happened during boot and I missed it. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if it happens again.
Regards.
