1. Open Windows Explorer

2. Set List View and Preview

3. Select the first file

4. Press the Arrow Down key repeatedly

Looks to be working on my end.

(But sounds somewhat familiar to ... something I can't find at the moment.)

And, 1. Windows Explorer, did you mean Everything ;-) ?

Yes, but that does not mean that I'm understanding what I'm seeing.

I can reproduce it, when the selection in Everything goes also on Network files.
Normally the preview works fine with up/down, but after a selection of a file from the Network database, I get problem with the Preview.

Win 7 x64

Can't reproduce on Windows 7/10 x64.
Selection changes with up/down cursor keys, preview works.
Connected to ETP remote server - no difference, everything works fine.

Even multiple selection works fine
If SHIFT is down it automatically add files to the selection.
If CTRL key is down, it only moves the selection box, without selecting (as it should) - pressing space - adds file to the selection.

Try Network Folder using: Indexes > Folders.

Have you looked at the version number? This is Version 1.4.0.713b (x64) on Windows 7x64, as stated in my posting on top.

Left/Right arrow keys in Thumbnail view (all sizes) do work.
Up/Down arrow key both in Thumbnail view and in Detail List view do not work.

I've looked at the ListView properties in Window Detective:

These are the modules used by Everything:

Here is the detailed information about comctl32.DLL:

As you can see, comctl32.DLL version is: 6.10.7601.18837

In SysListView32 controls inside other programs Up/Down keys do work.

Under Tools -> Options -> Keyboard
Set show commands containing to: result list item
What is displayed in the Shortcuts for Result List | Item Up and Result List | Item Down?
Try adding a keyboard shortcut such as F12 for item down and see if it works.

The Everything result list is not a true SysListView32 and is instead emulating a SysListView32.

Thanks! You lead me in the right direction!

This was the status quo:

And now with this workaround it works:

However, with this workaround, Up/Down+Shift for selection extension does not work. But that's not a problem, I can use Shift/Ctrl-Click for selection extension.

BTW, Everything is certainly one of the most useful programs I've ever seen! Especially now with the thumbnails view.

Many thanks for this wonderful piece of software! I will donate!

Why is it so empty in there?
This is pretty much default settings:

@void
I tested now online/offline network Folder, and I can approve there is a problem when the network is offline. The preview stuck.

I really don't know. It was like this after installation.
