windows indexing service required?

Post by icepam »

i just figured that i have uninstalled the windows indexing service using liteXP. when i open Everything the results remain empty even though it sees the NTFS volumes i have, and it is running as administrator. does it use window's own indexing service to do its magic and do i need to reinstall that?
(am using xp pro).

"Everything" will work with out the The windows indexing service.
"Everything" uses the USN Journal for indexing and maintaining its database.
