Portable versions not remembering database

Post by bounce »

When I restart my computer and run everything it re-indexes all the drives I have. Is there a way to "save" a database or is this how it's supposed to function? thanks

"Everything" should create its database in the same folder as the Everything.exe file.

Make sure "Everything" has write permissions to this folder.

To change the location of the database:
  • In "Everything", from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Volumes tab.
  • Change the Database location.
  • Click OK.
If you do not run "Everything" often you may need to increase the maximum size of the USN Change Journal.

To increase the maximum size of the USN Change Journal:
  • In "Everything", from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Volumes tab.
  • For each volume in the Local NTFS volumes list:
    • Change the Maximum size to at least 32768 KB
  • Click OK.
Is "Everything" creating the database (Everything.db) when it is closed?
