So what, you're asking for an option to embed it or something?

Doesn't TC use "plugins", wlx or so, yep they do.
(Seems I actually "use" a couple of them in Servant Salamander.)

I know nothing of them (as to how to make them), but maybe someone could whip one up?

It seems that you have posted to the wrong forum.
BTW There is such option in Find Files dialog of TC 9.0 and you can use Everything syntax for search in TC (prefix ev:)

I do not see any speed up (small files) when use enabled MFT.
My HDD "indexing"(High activity of disk reads hundreds of thousands and even millions of files for a long, long time head of the hard disk is working hard.), so do not use directly from the MFT.
