exFat indexing slow

I have this 8TB external with 1.6 million files and indexing takes time, about 15 minutes or so.
any chance to speedup exFat indexing?

That is hard to accomplish due to the way the exFat filesystem is organized.
It is missing features that make indexing - for example - NTFS volumes blazingly fast.
BTW: around 1700 files per second indexed. I wouldn't call that slow, necessarily
