Currently, double-clicking the Path is set to open that path in Windows Explorer.

You should also be able to send the path to another file manager.
Check Everything's command line parameters.

Unable to confirm. XP SP3, Office XP (aka 2002, I believe).
In my case, with Excel open & a spreadsheet loaded, clicking the second file causes it to open in a new (Excel) window.

(I'm not really familiar with Office as I virtually never use it.)

Are you sure that D: is an NTFS formatted drive?
In my case, "C:\" works as expected, though D: is a FAT32 restore partition, so not seen by Everything.

That wouldn't explain why your "D:\subfoldername" works though :?:, so that would not be it.

So perhaps a locale issue?

For whatever reason, the first command line will need a trailing \ character in order to work.

Something funky is going on with Zoom. The shortcut keys, Ctrl++ or Ctrl+- work ... weird, partially, quirky - when focus is on the Result List . Place focus on Result List. Ctrl++ will increase once (or so). Ctrl+- will decrease many times, but weirdly at that. And then notice what Ctrl++ then does...
