Ok. The earlier version .452a used to give out a warning of "Long Sort" whereas 645b does it more silently with only a hint in the bottom. Can some sort of progress bar alongwith a cancel button be given so that the user is more aware.

Compatibility with Windows 8
After testing out windows 8, everything still beats Win8's own search tool. But there are random bugs like files can't drag n drop, database wouldn't update anymore, etc.

I wouldn't worry about future versions of Windows, at least not yet. I can confirm the Everything Search Engine works on Windows 8 and Windows Server 8. The issue isn't Windows. Though I don't know that you're going to see any difference from 451a.
(There was one change I'm aware of, but as far as I know the change didn't really fix what it was intended to. Don't recall what the actual issue was. I use 451a.)

Maybe not enough donations? Maybe he should start selling it instead. My fear is that Everything may not work under future versions of Windows, and there just isn't a substitute for Everything. After almost 2 and 1/2 years without an update, sadly enough, I think it may be safe to say this project has reached the end of its probable development cycle, despite the author's best intentions. Perhaps, I will be proven wrong (gladly so), but personally, I'm not going to hold my breath any longer.

From what I recall, there was one change relative to .451a.
That change did not pan out.
So for all intents & purposes 451a & 452a are the same.
I would stick with 451a as that is the version that is typically mentioned in the forums.

1.2.1.371 is the latest official release. 1.2.1.451a is the latest alpha release. 452a is an unofficial alpha release with some memory alignment changes. Update notifications will only work for official releases. Are your USB drives NTFS or FAT32? "Everything" ...
