Re: Help recovering files after chksk?

Okay, unfortunately not all files were in the found.000 folder. Luckily the most important ones. Everything still shows some deleted files and folders even after I delete the database. Edit: My fault. Somehow I don't have the rights to open the specific folder and Everything is still correctly showi...

Re: Help recovering files after chksk?

I just found out that chkdsk created a hidden folder found.000 and copied all the missing files there. And I was wondering why recovering tools didn't find anything. It's weird that Everything 442a didn't update the database until I deleted it. Now I'm using build 389b with an old database and 442a ...

Re: Help recovering files after chksk?

Thanks for your answer! I found another blog post about chkdsk results: Where to find CHKDSK results in Vista, Windows 7 Unfortunately the chkdsk log in event viewer doesn't show any filenames anymore, only the index numbers. I got another idea though. Everything still list all the deleted files but...

Help recovering files after chksk?

Hello! When I just started my machine Windows told me it needs to perform a chkdsk on a drive. I let it go on and realized that it corrected several indexes. I already had a bad feeling. After boot up I opened Everything and searched for some files I remembered were mentioned in the chkdsk log. Ever...

Re: Open command line from here

You can add a context menu item to open a command prompt for folders by adding the following registry entry: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\Command Prompt\command] @="cmd %1" Save the above as a .reg file and run it. You can do the same for files with...

Open command line from here

Hello!

It would be nice to have the option "open command line from here" or similar when right clicking on a result, whether it's a file or folder.

Thanks & best regards

Re: Junction Points, Hardlinks,...

HI David!

Thanks for the reply. That's good news!
I'm not sure what you mean with "you will have to update the indexes manually" though.

Junction Points, Hardlinks,...

Hello! Will Junction Points, Hardklinks etc. will be supported in the future? Or is there already an option for it? Everything doesn't show me results from Junction Folder nor Hardlinks. One example for Win 7 x86: Search for wmpshare.exe. Everything shows only one result located at C:\Windows\winsxs...
