For the love of god, add manual refresh

When I open Everything when I need to find just a single file it almost always starts indexing discs, which takes enormous amount of time because I have giant amount of data, so it takes very long time to update. I begging you, add a button/option to manual update or allow searching while it still i...

Suggestion for [inputbox on taskbar] feature

As far as I know, it's in TODO list but there seems to be no actual progress on that. Info: http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=323 http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=542 For me recently it's been more and more apparent that this is a very important usability f...

Re: How can I assign "Win" key + something as a shortcut

Sure, this is Everything's fault? Could be that you need to free the win-key-combination first, see http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=955, especially this answer: http://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopi ... =955#p8942

Re: Most relevant file not on top of results list?

if you consider "most often selected" as "most relevant", then you can simply show the "Run Count" Column and sort by that. You need to enable the run history in the "History"-part of the options, though!

Re: Re-indexing at each startup

Thanks. It went fine during the previous reboot - no rebuild. Today it got rebuilt again. Debug says: (couldn't find where it writes the log and couldn't copy the text so typed manually) ... _db_filesystem_add 0: ... ... _db_filesystem_add 8: ... open volume \\... ... open volume \\... loaded 0 of 0...

Re-indexing at each startup

For some reason the latest version of Everything is starting to re-index all drives almost on every system startup. Using 8.1 x64. I have 9 HDDs and 3 external HDDs. USN journal and monitoring is disabled on 2 HDDs and 1 external HDD. Tried exiting and running Everything manually without reboot - no...

Re: Diferent hotkeys for diferent windows

It would be great if this was supported natively by Everything! I had the same though a couple of months ago and solved it using Autohotkey, using the following script that simply executes Windows Shortcuts: #NoEnv ; Recommended for performance and compatibility with future AutoHotkey releases. Send...

Re: Is the developer still alive?

Good question!

According to the WhoIs data for voidtools.com (http://www.whois.com/whois/voidtools.com) the domain was updated a month ago (which I think means paid for).

Maybe someone should write David a letter...

Re: WIN-F

You can disable ("free") single Win- key combinations, including Win+F (which I did on my machine). Here is the reg-key: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] "DisabledHotkeys"=hex(2):46,00,00,00 It is...

Update database when (Truecrypt) partition is mounted

Using Everything 1.3.2.649b I am indexing my Truecrypt partitions, which always have the same driver letters, using "Options > Indexes > NTFS", because i want to use the "include only" option there. Unfortunately Everything is started before I mount those volumes and when I mount...

Re: Network directory indexing benchmark

I tried out the new 1.3.0.629b. I have not much experience with the earlier versions so I can not comment very much on the changes. My main interest is if "Everything" can be used for 30+ employees to search through their shared network drive. I put up a quick test: letting "Everythin...

Re: "Everything" version 1.3.0.629b FAQ

Yes, Everything will attempt to monitor changes you make locally to the remote network share. Changes made remotely are not detected. So should I re-index regularly to catch up with the changes made by others? Or can I not use "Everything" to search our company network share (1000GB, some...

Re: Indexing mapped directories - please, please, please !

Another vote for some kind of network drive solution, however I am not sure that the performance will be good enough if each client should index the network directory. If the two problems mentioned by Shiphen was solved, wouldn't this be the most elegant solution? Which problems did you have, Shiphe...

Any time I open a file that is supposed to open in winamp it hangs for around 20 seconds. Doesn't matter if I double click or right click and choose open or one of the winamp shell extensions. If I drag files straight into winamp's playlist there is no issue. To find and open songs is what I use thi...

Hello everyone, thanks for such a great software!

Please, anyone could confirm if some pages of the wiki like http://support.voidtools.com/everything/About try to redirect to some malware page?

(just click on 'this page is under construction')
