Option to exclude .lnk
Hi all Is there a possibility to exclude .lnk files from search results ? Yes I know that I can enter .ext !.lnk but if I want to find .docx or .xlsx without lnk files, I have to add ! .lnk at each search. What I wish is an option to exclude .lnk from all researches, without to have to enter ! .lnk ...

Re: Everything : I type in search field c:\temp and it doesn't show anything
\ is a special character for regex. So try c:\\temp if you check Enable Regex
In Regex all special chars like \ . $ and others have to be preceeded by \ to be recognised as such.

Search in selected folder
Sorry if the answer is obvious, but I am unable to do that : In a Everything window, I select one folder, say C:\Windows. What is the fastest mean to search C:\Windows\* ie all the files contained by the selected folder (here C:\Windows) ? Is there also a shorcut to do that ? More : if I select two ...

Re: Display descript.ion's file
Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I think that IColumnProvider does not know descript.ion column because this one is not a file property. As I said above, with some file managers you can describe any file by adding (or editing) a line in a particular file named descript.ion. That file belongs to...

Re: Display descript.ion's file
Yes, it is better. But what I want is to display (in a popup for example) the description of the current file. Say we have 2 files described in some directory. File1.ext is described as "My file one", and file2.ext is described as "My file two". So the directory contains a (event...

Re: Display descript.ion's file
No, I don't speak of zip/rar files descriptions. I speak of 4dos descript.ion. Google it to see what I mean.
Anyway, thanks for your answer.

Display descript.ion's file
It would be nice if we could see a descript.ion file (if existing) attached to the current file. Descript.ion is a 4dos file born to describe some files of a directory. And I use it very often in Total Commander or any compatible other file managers.

Hi all Regarding my previous post, had I do something wrong or is it a bug of Windows 10 Creators update with Everything ? To check it, I have disabled UAC. Currently my Everything.ini contains custom_verb01=print custom_verb02=print ... file_custom_verb_1_keys=8307 file_custom_verb_2_keys=1139 wher...

Custom verbs and Windows creators update
I have followed your topic about Custom verbs I have associated F4 to custom verb Print. Under Windows 10, old release, all was OK. But since I got Windows Creators update (release 1703 Windows 10 Redstone 2 March 2017 build 15063) it is no more working, even for simple verb as "print". Ar...

Cheers David for your awesome product. A GPT disk (for UEFI Bios) will it be indexed by Everything ?
Can I format it on NTFS filesytem, or on Large Fat or FAT32 ? And under which conditions that disk can be indexed by Everything ?
Still thank you for all.

Re: Search within files?
Searching file content (no indexing) with "Everything" is on my wish list. Please, David, don't add weight to EVTH. It is so efficient currently. Or, at least, put an option in order to users can not use that feature. As everybody knows, the most important merit and the awesome particular...

Re: Button to Search current folder in File Manager
Yes, from TC I have also to completely terminate Everything (including the icon in the system tray).
So I don't beg for only one window, but I beg for only one instance in order to not have to terminate EvTh because one instance is added on every search from TC.

Yes it works.
But it opens a new instance every time, not only a new window but even a new instance. I get a supplementary icon in my icon tray.
Is there any mean to avoid that ?
TIA
