Thank you! I will check these things next time it happens. Also, I missed version 1.5, so I will upgrade to that now.

Re: ESE ignores contents of some folders.
Does it show the foldername itself in the resultlist? Are none of the files in this folder shown or just some of them? First guess: these files are hardlinks. Everything 1.4 sometimes has a hard time keeping track of them. A Force Rebuild should fix that (temporarily). Everything 1.5 does a much be...

ESE ignores contents of some folders.
I've found a couple of times where ESE will not show the contents of a particular folder. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling but that does not fix it. The only way it will find the files I'm looking for is to make a copy of the folder. ESE then will find the contents of the copied folder. The...

ES does not show ES does not show c:\windows\explorer.exe
Try it! Search the partition that has your Windows installation on it (mine is 8.1). Here's what I see. I do not see ES does not show c:\windows\explorer.exe "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\Critical_explorer.exe_c75e376847f58be7b9321677e66960b9d1cb_f9ec8dbb_3e2be495" &q...

Re: ES shows non-existent files on non-existent drives.
I'm not sure how to answer the questions. I don't know what you mean by "using File Lists or Folders" or if I've "disabled updating of the drives in question". I would not have intentionally done that, nor do I know how to do that. AFAIK, I'm just using the default installation o...

ES shows non-existent files on non-existent drives.
ES shows files that do not exist. I think I have connected external drives in the past that have had these files, but the drives are no longer connected. Yet ED still remembers the files and shows them in a search. For example, if I search for OutlookConvert-Full, I see the following entries, but on...

can I ask a dumb, noob question? What are these file lists useful for? I don;t see the purpose of them, and I'd hate to be missing out on coolness!

Oh, I am so happy I can barely contain myself! The issues are fixed in the beta! IMHO, this latest update launches SE into #1 spot as THE BEST WINDOWS UTILITY EVER!!void wrote:Does the problem occur with the latest beta with the service installed?

Ooh... I didn't know about the beta. I'll try that and report back.
On a side note, any chance there eventually might be a version that might work in Windows RT?

Strangely, the problem went away and this all worked OK for a while. Then for some reason, I had to reset Internet Explorer, and after that, the problem surfaced again. I wish I could figure this issue out.

The scan never completes.
When I start Everything Search, it hangs "Scanning (c:). The scan never completes. If I try to close the program, it hangs. It used to work fine, but now no longer works. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling and I've rebooted. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

a partial workaround is to right-click the file that I find in SE, and then click "Open Path". The folder opens with the file highlighted. I double-click the file to open it, then the custom button assignments do work. I wondered if there was any word on a resolution for this issue. Or pe...

There appear to be several threads on this but no answer.
Come on, Void Tools? This is a great app, but how about answering this issue? Tell us if there is or is not a way to fix this problem..
It's pretty poor security practice to force us to run as an admin on the system in order to run this app.

Re: Custom assignment for mouse and keyboard buttons do not work
It looks like I was running Everything with admins, but I turned that off, shut down the process then restarted it and I see the same problem. Does Everything run with Admin by default? Is there a way to turn that off or otherwise fix or workaround the problem?
Thanks again!!

Custom assignment for mouse and keyboard buttons do not work
I wonder if anyone might have some ideas about this. I have a Microsoft Ergonomic Natural Keyboard 4000, and I've changed the keyboard settings – for example the three buttons on the top left (Web, Search, and Mail) are set in Intellitype to Cut, Copy and Paste. Similarly, I have programmed my mouse...
