❓ Content search, regex search
I am trying to find this inside html files: <p dir="RTL" align="justify" dir="rtl"><span lang="en-us"><font size="5"> So I put them inside quotes "<p dir="RTL" align="justify" dir="rtl"><span lang="en...

Re: ❓ Indexing updated files
It seems you like being pointed to issues that help keeping the program in a great shape all the time. I noticed something else now: - I don't have the Everything Service all the time. - I closed Everything. I edited a file, then open Everything, search for the new added term inside that file, but n...

Re: ❓ Indexing updated files
That's right, using quotes showed the count 👍 One is just a bit lazy not to type additional keystrokes when not needed :) , I even chose "Content with Count" from the right side list so I don't have to type "cc:" each time, lol. I'll be waiting for the solution when it becomes a ...

Re: ❓ Indexing updated files
Sorry, I think it was my mistake!
There was another instance for the search term in the file that I didn't notice.
I think if the "Content Count" showed the number of matches in the file it would have helped (as it shows 0, although there should be at least 1).
Sorry again.

Re: ❓ Indexing updated files
I did the suggested options (no Everything service running all the time, as I don't use the program all day long, and don't want my slow computer to be affected), searched for something in the content, got 4 files. Then I edited one of the files, and removed the text that had the search term, but: -...

Re: ❓ Indexing updated files
Thanks for the prompt reply. It didn't show "updating", and the "Index Journal" in empty. Should I have Options: Everything service, and/or run indexing as administrator, and/or run as administrator checked? Should I have Options: UI > Run in background checked? Are these needed ...

❓ Indexing updated files
I am testing Everything for content search, but I am not keeping it running in the background. I noticed that changed files are not changed in Everything DB. - I tried "Force Rebuild" option, but it runs the whole process from scratch. - I have "Index > Update indexes" checked, b...

Re: ❓ Content search brings 0 results
Works great.. Thanks. A couple of questions: 1- Is there a "count" option that shows how many matches in each file for the search term? I found a "Run Count" column, most of the time it shows no numbers. 2- In the Options > Indexes > Database Location, I changed to a certain fold...

❓ Content search brings 0 results
Hi, I just installed Everything 1.5 Alpha for content search purpose, added the include only folder, and filetypes, but it does nothing. I tried searching for html files that has the text "jpg" using content:"jpg" command, but nothing shows, and nothing seemed indexed. No progres...

Re: Store the content of the indexed content in a database?
I second that, it would be great to have a fixed database, and updated only when needed. For example if one has 1000 files that are not changing, no need to reindex them each time I open the program. They can just stay in the database all the time.
