Manual word similarity, abbreviation list feature
I would like to suggest adding something that allows a user to enter certain search terms in a list and their related terms in order to search files of similar file names. For example, I would like to use a term "NYC" to include results containing "new york city", "new york&...

Re: Run count is being reset after file name change
I will consider an option to track run count by sha/md5. Thank you for the suggestion. For now, Everything tracks run count by filename. Thanks, it's a very useful feature. FYI My run history file is around 46 MB now (without time limit) and currently it isn't slowing down anything. Using the lates...

Run count is being reset after file name change
Suggestion would be to store "Run count" counts based on file's hash (MD5..) or something that is not dependent on file's location or file name. I think this would probably slow things down but there could be an option to switch between Run count checking via file name (default) or via fil...

Re: File path length?
Adjust len: as needed. path:len:>254 Is it possible to just find file names that are certain length, for example 15 digits and chars while ignoring entire path ? For example, I search ' twitter_account_ len:15 ' and it can't find anything unless I just use len:15 without additional search terms and...

Strange, but even with PATH disabled and no folder path in search bar, it can't find anything, even though i have hundreds of files with just 8 digits.

Re: How can I search for files with "numbers" only as name?
I need to find files that contain 8 digit (from 0-9) long file names.
I use this regex pattern:
But it doesn't work. Can anyone tell where is the problem ?
I use this regex pattern:
Code: Select all
/^[0-9]{8}$/

Thanks, the issue was font size, which for some reason was set to 14. Now at size 9 it's back to normal at 100% zoom.

This would be a very useful feature.
Currently in Windows 10 it is very limited and just shows 'a long time ago' for most items created a few months ago. Would be great if Everything could group items together by dates and not by some vague relative dates.

I find it easier to do these renamings and file attribute changes with programs like BulkFileChanger and Advanced Renamer , both are free for personal use. Advanced Renamer for example can add location place names (nearest city, state, country) to filenames based on EXIF GPS coordinates, it was very...

[Feature request] Image text indexing (OCR)
Tesseract OCR is open source and this wouldn't be that hard to implement, similar to how PDF content is being indexed currently. This would be a very useful addition to this search tool and there isn't any software that can do this - index text in images and allow user to search for it. I know googl...

Everything crashes while indexing document contents (Fatal error: out of memory)
Version 1.5.0.1313a (x64) This program is consuming extreme amounts of resources at once to the point it crashes if document size is set larger than 10 MB and I used only certain folder for indexing. Possible memory leak? Everything consumed around 11 GB of RAM and 70% of CPU before crashing. https:...

Right now on average Everything.exe uses around 165 MB of RAM on average.
