About File Lists

I was interested in creating a File List to refer to as a catalog in lieu of another software (called WinCatalog, I grew tired of it's clunky interface and poor search results). So, before diving in, I looked up the process that needs to be followed to create one, and more importantly how to update ...

Drag and Drop Nuances

Dragging an item from name column should drop that item itself. Dragging same item from path column should drop the folder containing that item. I observed that sometimes I have to open the item itself in an app, that's no problem, I simply drag and drop the item into the app and done. But other tim...

Re: Unique listing of files with the exact same filename

Ok, some of it did go over my head. Your answer works for what I wanted to do, so there's that. I guess I'm still trying to imagine a venn diagram of the search results of unique: and distinct: and since I thought their results should be mutually exclusive, I thought the two circles won't intersect ...

Hmm, that works. But is there a reason why it only works in that particular order, I tried

Re: Unique listing of files with the exact same filename

So I seem to be facing an odd problem, the results of distinct:name and unique:name should be mutually exclusive, correct? Distinct should find files that have duplicates and list the first duplicate in the results. Unique should find files that don't have any duplicate. I can see some files that ha...

Re: Run a file to search a predefined query

This isn't what I was expecting. It's like making it relative but not before using an absolute path to do that which defeats the original intent. Is there perhaps a way to run a search in the folder containing the shortcut file itself using some meta tag or path information of the shortcut. I'm basi...

Re: Run a file to search a predefined query

Is there a way to use relative path with respect to where the shortcut is located and the location for which the search needs to be performed?
In my case the search needs to be performed in a directory which is one level up, relative to the location of the shortcut file.

Move through history with Scroll Wheel when Mouseover the Search text field

What the title says.
Basically the way it does with Filters when you have View > Filters Bar turned on.
Right now with Mouseover the Search text field, scroll wheel just scrolls through the search results, and there is plenty of screen real estate to scroll through them anyway.
