Asking for a confirmation about directories, opposed to files, in search results
Hello! I'm coming to ask for a confirmation, please, to avoid screwing up, basically. My context: I'm dealing with a bountiful search harvest, 76452 results. I plan to delete all of them. The only exception: there might be directories in the search results, and if so, I want to to manually check the...

Re: The search does not work or takes too long without progress.
Do you have multiple hard drives or partitions? Maybe one of them is the culprit, could it be a failing or weakened hard drive? You can try your luck by excluding them manually one by one in the program options (tools > options > index > ntfs > list of the local ntfs volumes, click one > uncheck the...

Re: How to search A list file?
Everything filelist search doesn't require spaces, Just | for file separation. Ah, I didn't know. I'll still add those spaces for reading convenience, but, eh, it's good to know, thanks ^^ - control-J to have it all in a single line Can you please tell me what this shortcut key do? Removes line end...

Confused feedback, conflicting exclude / index settings
Hello! I'm not here to rant, rather to simply report on something I didn't notice before, and that is quite confusing in my eyes, maybe - just maybe! - something could be done about it. See the attached image, it's thrown me into a pit of confusion before I understood, a minute later. delete.jpg I h...

Re: Asking for a precision, is the index refreshed instantly or at intervals?
Allright :) Do you have any exclusions that might get in the way? Check Menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Exclude. The checkbox to activate the list of exclusions is ticked, but below there is nothing listed at all, it's an empty box. I unticked the box just in case, tried with creating in Explorer a...

Re: Asking for a precision, is the index refreshed instantly or at intervals?
Thank you for your replies, Void and NotNull! Then, apparently, I'm in front of a program bug. I was first secretly relieved to find it was a program version problem, so I upgraded to the latest stable, 1.4.1.895 (the Help > Check update menu entry told me I had the latest minutes ago, go figure). B...

Asking for a precision, is the index refreshed instantly or at intervals?
Pardon me to bother with this question, I have doubts and I would like to know how much I can rely on Everything for minute activities. When the FAQ says: Does "Everything" monitor file system changes? Yes, "Everything" does monitor file system changes. Your search windows will r...

Re: Simple curiosity: I'm unable to locate where the Everything.db index is located
Ah, found it. Is it the manual closing that made the file appear at last, as you recommended it, therube? Or some other "go figure" thing, no idea. But, now, the Everything.db file was found. Not in C:\Program Files\Everything Not in C:\Users\(my username)\AppData\Roaming\Everything But in...

I just checked as you mentioned, closing everything.exe in the windows tasks manager, and making sure the Everything service wasn't running either.
Still no .db file

[Solved] Simple curiosity: I'm unable to locate where the Everything.db index is located
Hello! I discovered Everything quite recently and immediately fell in love with the program, it's allowing great improvements in productivity and, more basically, in computer usage comfort. Damn, does it matter! Last time I allowed a program to index in real time everything on my computer, windows s...
