Re: my G drive disappeared / how do I filter out .dll files
none of those options were checked. the G drive issue got fixed a couple days ago. i think i did so by going to Options/Indexes/Folders and adding the G drive there. How do I filter out the dll files? I already did so under Tools/Options/Indexes/Exclude but they still show up. I'm trying to exclude ...

my G drive disappeared / how do I filter out .dll files
I cant find anything on my G drive! Even when I type G: nothing shows up. It shows up in Windows Explorer. What do I do? In the process of trying to add it I must've made some mistakes and the settings seem to have gotten shuffled around a bit. Now I'm seeing a bunch of unnecessary files and folders...

how do i filter out files in a directory that have a certain name?
I know how to filter out files in folders when I have the specific path. But I'd like to filter out all files when the folder has a certain name. In this case there's a folder called appsumo. I'd like to filter out all the search results *any time* appsumo is in the file path. How do I do this? Than...

Hello, there's a file I'm seeing in Windows Explorer that's not appearing when I search for it in Everything. The file's located here: C:\Users\Administrator\Downloads\Vuze Downloads I checked my excluded folders and this isn't excluded. And it's not an issue with file type. What could be the issue?...

I want to exclude the folder c:\users\administrator\appdata\
I can see how to navigate to the exclude folders section. But I cant navigate to the appdata folder under administrator, it doesnt show up. Is there a way to type in the path I want to exclude? I cant find that.

Re: i plugged in my external hard drive after a while but the contents arent showing up in everything
OK yes my G drive is NTFS
In Indexes none of them show up as offline.
For the first part, why did we uncheck automatically remove offline volumes? Isnt it a good thing for files to not show up if they've been removed / are no longer connected?

Hi, thanks for this! So I actually ended up solving the problem just before you posted, by going to Folders and adding the G: there. i plugged in my external hard drive after a while but the contents arent showing up in everything
I unplugged my external drive for a couple weeks. Now I've plugged it back in. This is the G Drive. I can see the contents in Windows Explorer but when I type in G: in Everything it's blank. I do see the G drive mentioned under Options/Indexes/NTFS so that's not the issue.

Pretty much in the subject line. New files on my C: (for example in my Downloads directory, or Desktop) aren't showing up in the Everything search bar. I created a few notepad files in other drives and they did.

Fixed! It's funny, most of the options you mentioned were already what you suggested they should be. But while I was there I turned on, start at startup. Then exited settings, and problem solved. Not sure why that would change anything? But anyway, all good.
