Re: Ignore restricted folders?
Seems to be working now; maybe I didn't wait long enough. This time I added the folder and went to lunch. When I came back, Everything still showed that it was scanning, but when I clicked a menu, that indication disappeared and Everything displayed files as usual. I looked for one of the files in t...

Re: Ignore restricted folders?
Is there a way to do this globally, or do I have to exclude restricted folders individually?
if only individually, what would happen if a new restricted sub-folder is added at a later time. Would Everything hang while scanning?

Ignore restricted folders?
I want to add a network folder for Everything to search. The problem is that some sub-folders are restricted and I do not have access, and when Everything scans the folder it hangs. Is there a way to tell Everything to ignore sub-folders it cannot access and scan only those that it can?

Everything-xyz.ini in a different folder?
I have created a shortcut for a second instance of Everything, but I want to move the .ini file to a different folder where I keep various configuration files. I have tried "<app path>everything.exe" -instance "<config path>everything-xyz.ini" and various permutations, but no luc...

Re: Trend Micro flagging Everything as PUA.Win32.FileSearcher.C
I am having the same problem with Everything-1.4.1.986.x64 portable that I downloaded this morning. Trend Micro is flagging it as PUA.Win32.FileSearcher.E. Rolled back to 1.4.1.935.x64 and all is well. Have not tried 1.4.1.969. I have not tried the installer, only the portable version. Since the Tre...

Re: (bug?) Don't show folders mapped to a drive letter (subst)
I have found a solution for Windows 10. Instead of the subst command, I entered the mapping directly into the Windows registry under the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\DOS Devices To map a local folder to a drive, create a new string value with the...

Re: (bug?) Don't show folders mapped to a drive letter (subst)
Using version 1.4.1.895 64-bit portable.
Recently migrated from Win XP to Win 10 64-bit (1803). In XP, local folders mapped to drive letter showed up fine in Everything (same version x86). Now in Win 10 64-bit, they don't.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?
Thanks

Full paths for mapped folders
Add an option to return the full (expanded) path of a mapped folder when using Copy Path and Copy Full Name. For example if I have mapped a network folder to a drive (e.g. H = \\BackupServer\2016_files), and everything finds a file there (e.g. H:\foundfile.doc), I'd like an option for Copy Full Name...

Make location of everything.ini configurable
Currently users can select whether to have everything.ini in the program folder or in Documents and Settings. I have a Configs folder where I keep all configuration files for programs that let me specify location. That makes it easy for me to back up all configurations and settings without having to...
