Re: Is it possible to open an Everything window with a predefined search?
Hi, I'm just following up on this. I have a new but related question. Is it possible to open a new Everything window with a specific predefined string that goes into the search box? Here's the situation behind my question. Sometimes I already have an Everything window with a lengthy and complicated ...

Is it possible to open an Everything window with a predefined search?
I know that if you run C:\Program Files\Everything\Everything.exe it opens an Everything window. But is there any way to open a window with a specific string that automatically goes in the search box? For example, it would be nice to have a way (perhaps a hotkey) to run Everything so that it automat...

How to exclude files of a certain extension UNLESS they are in a certain folder?
Hi, I'd like to exclude almost all *.lnk files. I say 'almost', because I do have an exception. The exception is that there is a certain folder -- c:\x\ -- for which I want to include all *.lnk files.
How can I do that? Is there an easy way? Thanks!

Searching for a folder name as a whole
Hi, I have a folder with the name "mic". Unfortunately, when I open up Everything and type "folder:mic" it brings up thousands of folders with "microsoft" in their name. Because I only want the "mic" folder, I then try to restrict it by typing "folder:'mi...

Problems with Alt-Tab
Hi, when I Alt-Tab between programs, Everything is now causing a problem: once I switch over to it, it won't relinquish control of the screen to any other program. The only way to switch over to another program is to minimize Everything before using Alt-Tab. Here's an animated GIF that illustrates t...
