Re: How to disable "Cancel current search"?
Ok I know what happened: all the drives were set to not be included in the database. Even when I created a new folder with only the executable and the lang files; no older ini settings. Attempted to run now with the older database and -read-only parameter and it was again blank. But if I run it with...

Re: How to disable "Cancel current search"?
Not sure what's going on. Copied my current folder with Everything-1.3.3.658b.x86 and extracted "Everything-1.4.1.865b.x86.zip" into that folder. There's no loading of the database and queries are not performed so I can't test it... Tried forcing database build, start with -read -only para...

Re: How to disable "Cancel current search"?
Thank you. It does appear every time I select another window while a query is running. Maybe it is related to the amount of indexed items (in my case around 11 million)...

Re: Keep offline volumes in the index
It is not working here... I set the line in the ini file but it doesn't display results for offline volumes. What is odd is that I disconnected a drive with the letter "I:" and connected another drive with the same letter. After that results for the first "I" drive are displayed ...

Re: Load previously scanned database...
I think you're asking for a simple toggle option in the UI which I'll consider, thanks. Yes that would be it. I'm going to experiment with showing the old database instantly on load with Everything 1.4.1.815b . Maybe a bad idea... since the first launch there's no database to instantly load, on fir...

Question: would it be easier on new users if it could be set via the UI?

Load previously scanned database...
There seems to be two options to load a previous index and not reescan on start. 1. Save an efu list and select to load it on "General/Home" 2. Select a folder in "Indexes/Folders" and set "Never update" But what happens if I want to index all the drives and use a compr...

Re: Add Explorer like folder browsing in .efu index -- proof of concept: Everything Efu Explorer
IMHO Please don't create a "tree view pane for folders only", instead a unified folder and file view in tree mode that displays folders and files for the navigated folder, in the line of windows explorer main pane, such that if no folder has been explored display the root folder/s file/s D...

Re: Everything as a Cataloguer
What about a different version that supports tree like browsing? Before the updated builds I used the version of Everything with updating disabled

but that is easier to implement than a tree like version.

Re: Everything as a Cataloguer
Thanks for bringing Hddb unfortunately it doesn't index 0-byte files o.O ...which means it can't index the catalog I have already created with ZeroZipper and modified later... and it crashes when building the database for some drives. I have the impression Hddb has some bugs to be fixed but other th...

Everything as a Cataloguer
Of all the applications I know Everything database is the most efficient one. I used it for searching files but it could also easily become my top cataloger. There's only one thing missing: a view to display nested folders in a tree view. Right know the aproach I have taken is to use ZeroZipper to r...
