Re: Excluding external drive
Thanks. I cannot find the Local NTFS Volumes list, but I have edited the list at Tools / Options / Indexes / Exclude / Exclude Folders which seems to have done whan I want.

Excluding external drive
I am trying to exclude an external drive D: which I thought would be under Options. I selected "Indexes / NTFS" and a window mentions "Windows (C:)" and "Iomega HDD (D:)" - I can select either, but the button "Remove" is greyed out. Is there another way to sto...

Re: Limit search to files created on a single date
Thanks for your advice. It works if I turn off regex.
Kind regards

Limit search to files created on a single date
How do I do this? <myfile> dc:14/4/2022 shows nothing although I have a file created on this date. I can see the file among others if I do not try to filter on date, so it is in the database.

Re: how do i exclude folders from my search?
I wanted to find files with "hepm" in the name, but not in the folder FileHistory. So I typed "hepm !G:\FileHistory". This found nothing. "hepm" by itself found all the files with "hepm" in the name, as expected. So exactly how does one use the NOT operator?

File search by properties
Is it possible to look for a file according to the properties found in the context menu under "Properties"? The installation file for a well-known antivirus program is called "startup.exe" in the fine tradition of not telling the user more than one has to. One can find the name o...

Re: Fatal error: corrupt file name array
This error has just started appearing on my computer - running Windows 7 Home Premium. The version of Everything is 1.3.4.686.x86. I tried reinstalling the program but this made no difference. I have been running Everything with no problems for some time until now.

Re: Boolean search "and not"
I disabled regexes but this made no difference. "axx" and "inv.doc" are not whole filenames - "axx" is a suffix and "inv.doc" is a string included in the filenames of the files I want to find.

Boolean search "and not"
I want to search for all filenames with "inv.doc" in them but to exclude filenames ending in "axx". I would have thought "inv.doc !axx" would do this, but nothing is found. Is there a way of doing this?

zip files not found
I was looking for a .zipx file made by Winzip but it was not found. I checked to confirm that it was on my hard disk. I also closed Everything and restarted it. I looked for ".zip" and ".zipx" files but none were found although I have at least two on the hard disk. I am running W...
