windows 11 tabbed explorer - urgh
Whilst it's nice that MS is getting with the times, the current iteration is worse than I had with clover on windows vista. My main bugbear is that it doesn't capture new window instances so you still end up with a bunch of explorer windows Previously I used qttabbar for my tabs and listary for the ...

Re: Duplicate finder help or alternatives
That's awesome 🤩 Fyi I found an app that has the sort of UI I was talking about, if you're interested. (But it lacks the mft speed of everything!) Called beyond compare. It has the option to ignore folder structure but can stil be sorted by path so it's super easy to see if there's an entire folder ...

Duplicate finder help or alternatives
I want to compare 2 drives. I just want to find the dupes that exist on both drives, not the dupes that exist on same drive. There will be hundreds of files in a folder that will be duplicated, but the folder names and paths may be different. It's way too laborious to go through each one. I need to ...

exclude files in folders containing a specific word
this is my search
!print !psb ext:psd "D:\my\path\"
these files are typically in a folder called "processed" that is about 5 subfolders down from the root of the search
Is there a way to exlude files that are in a folder with, say, "keep" in its name?

other date metadata
for us photographers out there windows records some useful dates in the file metadata. Date, or date taken are kinda essential as date created and modified will not reflect this if the file has been moved or copied. I saw a previous post about plans to implement indexing of unusual attributes in 1.4...

Re: Build a USN Journal with Drive Bender Drive Pool
Hey sorry for the zombie thread thing, but I'm just wondering 2 things: 1. IS this still the best way to get everything working with drive bender? 2. Is there a better way to get fast searching on a pooled drive? 3. WHoops one more: (for any benders out there) if you do a search on the individual dr...

Re: Stubbornly refusing to index a drive
Thanks
Hey where is the debug log? I could see the console, but couldn't grab text from it, couldn't enter any commands. The best I could've done is screenshot it. Is there a file somewhere?

Re: Stubbornly refusing to index a drive
thanks for getting back to me scanned disk no probs. (it's a brand new ssd) the console is constantly changing: I assume stuff is getting written to the C: drive then everything is keeping up with changes. So I turned off indexing on C and the USN journal, then reindexed the ssd. After that it worke...

Stubbornly refusing to index a drive
It's in my local volumes list. It's the most recent one I've installed, NTFS SSD.
Its not in my exclude list. I've tried rebuilding. I've tried excluding, then rebuilding, then excluding again.
I tried updating to the most recent version of everything.
Any ideas?

Is it possible to quickly open and close the app so that its not using resources when its not running (its the sort of app that I'd run once a day at most, but would potentially save hours of faffing )
thanks!
