Re: I'm trying to find PDFs for a specific range

void wrote: Fri May 12, 2023 7:30 am dm is short for date modified.

Please try the following search:

*.pdf dm:2010-10-31..2022-11-30

*.pdf will limit your search to pdf files.
Thank you. This works! :D

Can this be added to the Search examples where it specifically refers to file type?

I'm trying to find PDFs for a specific range

I read the above but it makes no sense to me.

I'm trying to find PDFs for a specific range.

Example: the range is from 2010-10-31 to 2022-11-30

How do I accomplish this?

If this happens often, consider removing the Ctrl + T shortcut: In Everything , from the Tools menu, click Options . Click the Keyboard tab on the left. To the right of show commands containing , type in: on top Select View | On Top | Always Select Ctrl + T and click Remove . Click OK . Does the is...

Thanks, but I already mentioned in my post that Always on Top has been disabled. I also enabled it and restarted Everything, disabled again. The issue persists. I'll try removing the Ctrl+T shortcut and report back shortly.

Everything is always on "top" but it's unticked in View Settings

I uninstalled and reinstalled Everything, but it insists on being on top of my windows. Unless I minimize Everything first, it will appear on top of any other Window I have open. This is especially true when "Show Desktop" or minimize my open Windows in W11 or when I toggle the Windows ope...

Yes, thank you!!! The solution is indeed Shortcuts use the

extension.

How to search fpr internet shortcuts?

For instance, weather.ink is the name. Only when I type weather do searches appear which show weather.ink. But if I do a search for *.ink or ink nothing shows up. I would like to incorporate a duplicate search for my internet shortcuts. Is this possible?

Multiple Renaming—confusion

How do you use the renaming feature? I was shocked to see this renaming feature pop up during an Everything search when I wanted to perform a traditional rename of multiple files. For instance, I want to create a traditional rename of multiple files by adding (1), (2), (3) etc. in a consecutive form...

Re: Compare larger folders for migration

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, you all LOST me completely. This is way beyond my level of computer expertise. I will add that TC is the easiest to look at even though it uses a very primitive 1994 DOS like interface. Command lines are for Linux and power users, not modern day Windows users who look...

Re: Compare larger folders for migration

Ok. so I have downloaded Total Commander and Free. Now what do I do? How do I use Freefilesync? If it's a straight 1 directory to 1 directory comparison, I'd agree with the file manager argument that should easily point out differences. For a mixed method, also including Everything, see [freefilesyn...

Compare larger folders for migration

I am in the process of slowly migrating one my large folders with thousands of files from my legacy W7 PC to a new laptop. Re: Something has changed: Everything now hangs

The first thing I did when Everything repeatedly hung after two different attempts. I uninstalled it. I went directly to your https://www.voidtools.com/Everything-1.4.1.1005.x64-Setup.exe link and downloaded the 64 bit installer for 1.4.1.1005. The version made no difference. I can't comment on why ...

Re: Something has changed: Everything now hangs

Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. Revo Uninstalled already removed these files. I confirmed this. I did check Everything Service and it was ticked (I didn't know why there's an option for the square and not just tick enabled or disabled? I examined my WER (Windows Error Reporting) log file for Everything...

Something has changed: Everything now hangs

A blank screen is displayed with my last known search or file count. I leave my PC alone for more than 10 minutes alone but no. It'...

I can't figure this out. Intuitively, one should be able to enter "K:*.*" without quotes. But that is not an operation Everything understands.

Basic feature: Specify which drive (only) to search

You should be able to look on a drive or directory and automatically be able to search within that drive only or specify the drive or directory by right clicking. No messing around with special commands (if they even exist). Thank goodness for Total Commander..even though it's slower than Search Eve...
