Re: How stable is the current version?
Ok, thanks. Do all the settings get automigrated? Is it better to uninstall first? Any approximate prediction when the fully stable version might come? A stable version will not come in the near future. Settings are not migrated because versions 1.4 and 1.5 can run in parallel. I suggest uninstalli...

Re: How stable is the current version?
It's stable and has so many better functions compared to the 1.4.
Myself and many others here on this board use the 1.5 version without any big problems since a long time.
Bugs are usually fixed in short time.
So I suggest to only use the 1.5 line and follow the Alpha updates.

Yes, everything 1.5 works OK after you launch it, but you have to wait a while before you want to immediately type something into the search bar. Version 1.5.0.1371a (x64) Not here, it starts with the system. After a login I often start to search by using Everything toolbar and this never failed. _...

Missing any version info.
If you let Everything start with the system and the service is installed
no such thing will happen using version 1.5.
Version 1.4 needs some time after start-up before you can search.
This is not the case with version 1.5

To my knowledge, the service is not indexing anything.
The client is doing the index.
So if you stop the client, there should be no blocking of ejecting a drive.

Both can run in parallel
but there is no need for a 1.4 version if 1.5 is running.
The version 1.5 is in all aspects better than the 1.4
and runs stable for many users.

I think the idea is to compare files, just based on the hash, so 'file1.txt' and 'copy of file1.txt' are considered the same, even when their names differ. I vaguely remember that Beyond Compare will always include the name when comparing. Or is it possible to ignore the names? In my older version,...
