Re: updated, setting have disappeared
I was upgrading from 645 to 686 with the Setup.exe, and the setup-program (not everything.exe) was replacing the Everything.ini (with all of my custom settings) in %appdata%\Everything with a default one.

Re: Non -duplicate file listing
I'd like to push this bug up again. File structure: C:\temp\ │ └───test1 │ rfuihjoakpsdijuhtzfr.txt │ └───test2 rfuihjoakpsdijuhtzfr.txt the search syntax path:c:\temp\test1\test2\ dupe: is showing "rfuihjoakpsdijuhtzfr.txt", although it's only a dupe if the path: query would be path:c:\te...

Re: Undeleted folder not recognized by Everything
Oh, I forgot that I had "$Recycle.bin" as a filter in the Exclude list.
Without that filter, Everything picks up undeleted stuff too.
Does it work for you when the filter is set?

Undeleted folder not recognized by Everything
When undeleting/restoring a folder from the recycle bin, Everything isn't picking up the folder or the files it's containing unless I do a manual rebuild of the index (version 658b).

Re: Non -duplicate file listing
I got a similar problem with dupe. I have two drives, both holding the same files with the same names, filesize etc., so they're proper 1:1 copies of each other. but if I search with the query "path:<d:|e:> !dupe", I get a few results back, but only from one drive. Rebuilding the index and...

When selecting the same two files in Explorer, the context menu looks like the one on the left side, so this problem seems to be limited to Everything for me.

Re: Search by Size not working in recent beta versions
It does work, size: and the queries regarding the date just take a very long time. How much time? I waited for 39 minutes after your message, but no result(s). It looks some issue with new betas? or my system ? (before I got results instantly in a second or two, from 500GB drive) OK, 39 minutes is ...

DO SOMETHING AGAINST THE SPAMBOTS!
Disable registration or something like that.
Development of Everything is apparently dead again anyway, and reported bugs won't be fixed, so there's really no point in allowing new users anyway. Especially now that all new users are only spambots.

Re: Debug and %APPDATA%
Create a subdirectory to C: (which you can do) & install to there. Yeah, that's what I did, C:\Everything\*. Ctrl+` is working as expected for me in Win7. The console-hotkey is working for me fine, too. But only in 649b and earlier. As a test, after installing 658b with %APPDATA% checked during...

Re: Debug and %APPDATA%
So try installing into a directory outside of a Windows special folder location. Installing to a folder outside of C:\Users\Username\* isn't helping. For example I've put it in C:\ with writing-rights. Debugging Help says the shortcut is Ctrl+~, but actually its defined as Ctrl+`. Same key, just on...

Debug and %APPDATA%
With every version newer than 649b, I cannot open the debug-window at all. Neither -console nor the hotkey within Everything are working. Re: Shift+DEL Is Broken
Well, true. Restoring the defaults shows that Ctrl+A is set as default. Apparently it wasn't such a good idea to install 1.3 in the same directory as 1.2 after all. EDIT: Everything.ini before the update and after the update and after launching version 1.3: edit_select_all_key=0x01410000 In the prog...

Re: Shift+DEL Is Broken
I think there's another shortcut which should be set by default: Ctrl+A for "Select All" in the results list. In 636 it's not set to any shortcut.

Re: "Everything" version 1.3.0.629b FAQ
AFAIK Windows itself cannot distinguish between Ctrl+Alt and AltGr.
So I'm afraid you'll have to use a different hotkey for "new window".

One more bug regarding "size:"
Using "size:<xmb" shows all files except those with sizes between x-1mb and xmb. This probably applies to kb and gb, too.
