Re: Neither menu bar nor context menus respond to mouse or standard menu key combos
Hello everyone, thank you for the suggestions. I have been using Version 1.5.0.1338a (x64) for a month, and this version is not having the "menus don't respond to mouse" problem. Actually, I thought the new version had the issue about a week after installing, but I might have gotten my ver...

Re: Neither menu bar nor context menus respond to mouse or standard menu key combos
Thank you. Restarting Everything does not stop the menu problem. The popup context menu is not being displayed behind Everything. I checked. There are no context menus open elsewhere. My system is constantly checked for virus etc. No autohotkey or any key capturing or macro programs are installed. N...

Neither menu bar nor context menus respond to mouse or standard menu key combos
SUMMARY: Neither menu bar nor context menus in Everything respond to mouse or standard menu-opening key combinations. DETAILED VERSION: I've done searches on this issue and found nothing. The problem has persisted for several months. Everything is the ONLY application that has this problem. I can re...

Re: Preferences are constantly being lost!
Settings lost again (following a cold shutdown). I examined my Everything.ini files. They are intact. appdata=1 , yet upon launching, Everything comes up with all the original default settings. Very strange. As before, my only recourse is to spend 5-10 minutes reconfiguring all the options. This is ...

Re: Preferences are constantly being lost!
Yes, it works fine initially. Settings are maintained after setting them in Options. Usually several days go by before they revert to what is apparently the default installation settings. As far as other applications messing with %APPDATA%, I use Glary Utilities and sometimes CCleaner to delete temp...

Deleted/renamed files not updated in Results after Refresh
I know that related issues have already been discussed here, but none seemed to match my case exactly, so I'm posting this. Everything Version 1.4.1.809b (x64) is open. I delete a couple of files using Download Status Bar in Firefox. I check Explorer to make sure they're deleted. Deletes confirmed. ...

Suggestion: Notify user when keyboard settings in Search filters conflict with those set in Options
Keyboard settings for Search filters can be the same as settings in Options > Keyboard. There is no notification of conflicts. For example, I like to use Ctrl+p to activate my ext:pdf filter. I can set this as my keyboard shortcut while the default keyboard shortcut for Options is also set to Ctrl+p...

Re: Preferences are constantly being lost!
Thanks for your reply. I apologize for taking so long to get back. C:\Program Files\Everything\Everything.ini DOES have app_data=1 and run_as_admin=1 and nothing else. (BTW I've been having trouble getting the service to install. Windows tells me something like 'cannot install Everything service'). ...

Preferences are constantly being lost!
My Preferences (Options) are constantly being lost, at least on this one particular machine. I have used Everything for several years. I always use the latest Beta version. Currently using Version 1.4.0.713b (x64). Even when I locate two different versions of everything.ini on the machine, one in C:...

Re: Is the developer still alive?
I received a reply tonight from David, the developer, within 2 hours of emailing him directly at david@voidtools.com with a simple question about adding *.odt as a default extension for the Documents filter. He responded: ".odt added to the default filters for the next update." This is enc...

Can Someone Please Explain Purpose and Use of E HTTP Server
Can Someone Please Explain Purpose and Use of the Everything HTTP Server to a dummy like me? I have read everything I could find on the Wiki and Forum about the HTTP Server but found no basic explanation of what it is all about. Or you can point me to the place to find it. I surmise it is either a w...
